December 27-29, 2013
(This retreat is geared toward college students).
Jeremy says this about himself: “Well, I don’t have all the answers, and I don’t have it all figured out, and for darn sure I am not the smartest guy in the room [well-- depends on the room, I guess]. I am consistently inconsistent, and am as much of a hypocrite as anyone else who cares to look honestly and deeply at their own heart. I’ve got doubts, questions, and flaws.
During my journey on earth I have had my share of adventures, misadventures, occasional triumphs and embarrassing missteps, and along the way have learned a few things. One thing I have learned is this: I am relentlessly pursued by a tireless Savior, who continually and inexplicably woos me closer to Him, and calls me to be His own. That’s who I want to know, and that’s who I want to live for.
In these troubled times, when right is wrong and wrong is right, I want to dig past the garbage, listen past the noise, disengage from all of the shouting and division, and to simply know Jesus Christ—the God and the man who touched lepers, flipped over tables, told great stories, baffled the experts, upset the apple cart, broke the rules, and broke the back of sin and death. And I hope that somehow through God’s grace we can obtain some fresh new glimpses of this Christ during the Young Adults retreat, and come away refreshed, challenged, and more in love with Him than before.
I am looking forward to a great weekend. And sledding.”
